Goons are relatives of the ogres, they are smarter, but also weaker. They are not as big as ogres, but look quite like them. Adult goons stand 7 to 9 feet tall and weigh 200 to 250 pounds. Their skin colors range from a dead yellow to a dull black-brown, and (rarely) a sickly violet. Their warty bumps are often of a different color -- or at least more dark than their hides. Their eyes are purple with white pupils. Teeth and talons are orange or black. Goons have long, greasy hair of blackish-blue to dull dark green. A goon usually lives about 80 years, but in an ogre tribe, they have been known to grow as old as 100 years old.
COMBAT
Even in small numbers, Goons fight organized usually taking advantage of terrain conditions, this also applies to ogres directed by a goon. Goons favor missile weapons, as they can strike from a distance, and mostly use longbows. Melee-weapons most used by the goons are swords, mostly long- or bastard swords.
HABITAT/SOCIETY
Goon tribes are found anywhere, from deep caverns to mountaintops. Tribes have 16-20 males, 2-12 females, and 2-8 young. Shamans, if present, will be of 1st to 4th level and have access to the spheres of combat, divination, healing, protection, all.
Goons live by raiding and scavenging and they will eat anything. There is a 30% chance that an ogre lair will include 2-8 slaves. Extremely avaricious, ogres squabble over treasure and cannot be trusted, even by their own kind.
ECOLOGY
Although they are not as strong as ogres, they are mostly found in an ogre tribe, as they help the ogre chieftain by giving him strategic advice.
The No of appearing is for when they are alone, in an ogre tribe, there are mostly one per 50 ogres. Coons are also sometimes being used as helpers for sheriffs and other law-enforcers, as they are both intelligent and strong.
