Recent Forum lock-out

If anyone by chance happened to come by the forums for the last couple of days, just to find it inaccessible, then I apologize.

The problem was a sudden Memory Limit which accidently was imposed on the forum, causing access to the database to lock down.

The problem should have been cleared now with the Memory Limit having been doubled, so do NOT let this keep you from posting to your hearts delight!

Okay, the last lock-out was, contrary to popular belief, NOT my way of keeping KAM from posting... it was just my hosts' precautions against the flood of spam generated on the board as well as the spam-mail it generated FROM the board... :cry:

Now we are back, and tonight I'll get the board upgraded to the latest servicepack, so don't be worries if you get a lock-down... again :|

Okay, by now the twilight battle has been faught and my fifth colonne men have managed to sneak in two updates to the forum software... lets see if this can keep a number of spammers at bay!

Okay, updating the forum-software only lowered the generating of new spambot-profiles with about 5-10%, and yet again I had to find my site locked down by my host because spam was SENT from it... :|

So, now I've made the ultimate sacrifice and put all new profiles on "Admin Approval".

This means that no new profiles can be activated without me personally approving them.

This also means that my inbox will be swarmed with mails for pending approvals...

Howeever, it should aslo mean that no new spambot profile should enter these halls again (save me fumbling an approval)...

I'm doing this for you, the few, the proud, the posters...

Lets cross our fingers and see how this pan out...
