Anyway, sorry I've been so absent from the discussion etc. I had a real burn-out just before Easter and went almost three weeks without raising a pencil in anger, but I'm back now (and, hey, I broke the tie! Booyah!).

As far as the presentation goes, I dunno. some people probably do sign up without realising that all the cross-planning doesn't have to affect them at all, but I think the mystery drop-out rate is more likely to be explained by people losing interest in their comics. The first year we did this, I actually made a point of reading all the comics who signed up so I'd have some reference for cameos to draw, and of the ones I actually started following, most of the ones that didn't turn up to the actual caper went on hiatus (indefinite or otherwise) in the interim. I think high attrition is just a feature of the non-professional webcomics field that we can't really do much about. I guess we just need o plan with flexibility in mind.

I'm going to guess that PSI will not be in this year's either. I've a crossover with Grin n' Spirit that must take place, and I'm already a couple weeks behind due to a family emergency.

However, I might be able to have a couple of characters available during this time. I'll let people know as I figure out timing and when the 2010 caper gets going.

I doubt if I will be able to show up in '10's HCC due to trying out daz beta and everything, I might be able to make a slight appearance, maybe 1 comic but I seriously doubt it.

I'm a little confused about what a location choice means.

I think I understand -- if we choose 20's Chicago, then the participating comics either draw a 1920's (or 2020's ) era strip on that day, either by time travel, by having a "movie shoot", a dress-up party, or a non-canon episode, etc.

But what does it mean if we choose CameoComics?
... Actually, that's probably the only one that I don't really understand.

If CameoComic is chosen, then we go to CameoComic. I can't really say much more than that..

But I will say that it's more fun when we get ties. Disneyland, IN SPACE!!

Does that mean that the various comics do a scene in "Scale's apartment" (or more like Matt/Caitlin/Hogan's), or the ruined battlefield? Or does visiting a hiatus comic ... naaw, don't even think of that kind of temporal issues.

I think I was the one that suggested CC & part of the reason was so that it wouldn't become just another dead webcomic by actually posting this year's Caper there.

The other reason was that since the landscape of CameoComic is malleable it can change to suit what the artists of the participating comics want to draw.

Actually, while the battlefield may still be there behind the next hill, the comicscape HAS changed... now there's an outside to the apartment and a barn-storage even... at least according to Ron's renderings in Public Misfit Kids...

Who knows what else is going on in a comic where so many influences are still lingering after the Wars?

Not forgotten, and I'd actually put up a more or less complete schedule for the showing, it would just require some editing which I... have yet to get time to get working on
